NOW TAKING TEAM APPLICATIONS FOR OUR
2008 FREESTYLE SAMBO LEAGUE!

The ASA is now taking applications for the 2008 Freestyle Sambo League season. Your team MUST have five (5) Sambists able to compete in the 66kg, 74kg, 84kg, 96kg, and +96kg divisions. Each team member MUST compete in appropriate Sambo uniform of either red or blue. All league matches are B Division Freestyle Sambo with winners gaining points towards ASA Freestyle Sambo rankings. 2008 teams will be posted on this page with links to their home website.

To enter your team in the league, you must complete an application (download here) and submit with the team registration fee of $200. This registration fee covers entry fees for ALL league matches as well as the 2008 North American Freestyle Sambo Championships (regardless of whether your team makes the finals).

Also included in your team’s registration fee is an affiliate level club membership in the ASA which will entitle your club to all the applicable privileges of ASA membership. All participating team members will be able to purchase Sambo Kurtki (jackets) and Sambovki (shoes) at 50% retail price. Current ASA member clubs participating in the league will only pay a $150 registration fee.

TEAM MAY NOT CONSIST OF ANY PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS.

All teams and event results will be listed on this webpage. The two most successful teams (based on the total number of wins) will go head to head at the finals at the 2008 North American Freestyle Sambo Championships. The number of preliminary matches will be determined based upon the 2008 team roster.
